First Snow, First Falls: TJ & Cole's Snowboarding Debut

Gravity became both nemesis and teacher as TJ and Cole discovered that snowboarding involves far more intimate contact with the snow than anticipated! Their learning curve resembled the jagged peaks of the Cascades—moments of surprising grace followed immediately by spectacular wipeouts that created snow angel patterns visible from orbit. The boys' confidence increased inversely to their actual skill level, with Cole declaring himself 'basically professional' minutes before sliding backward down the bunny slope directly into the 'SLOW' sign. Meanwhile, TJ developed his signature move—the 'unintentional 180'—which he performed with remarkable consistency, always ending up facing exactly the wrong direction. The day's highlight came when both boys finally completed a run without falling, prompting a celebration dance that inevitably resulted in them falling anyway.
