Bruce and Kim Visit the Minnesota Homestead

Bruce and Kim finally got the grand tour of TJ and Kristen's Minnesota homestead, and the official welcome committee included a very enthusiastic Nala. The dog decided within minutes that grandparents are the single greatest invention in history. The week hit its peak when we took Kim to the local tulip festival for her birthday. We found endless rows of bright blooms, a giant pair of butterfly wings she could not resist posing behind, and apple orchards that happened to flower right on cue. In between the big outings, we filled the days with sunny spring dog walks and hands-on yard projects, because nothing says welcome to our house quite like handing your guests a pile of branches to haul away. The six days flew by in a blur of tulips, wagging tails, and the unique sense of pride that comes from showing your parents the life you are building.
